Joe’s passion for horses started at a young age, he was lucky enough to spend lots of time with them as his dad owned thoroughbreds and young stock; he also trained his own point to point horses.
Joe loved the thrill of racing and started pony racing at the first opportunity, he had some great ponies and together they worked their way up the through the ranks successfully. Due to his success he won a scholarship at the British Racing School.
At 16 Joe obtained his amateur riding license, riding winners in P2P’s, hurdles, chases and on the flat. Being tall and broad keeping his weight low was going to be hard so Joe knew he needed to keep his career options open. Whilst riding he also started training pointers to add another string to his bow. He loved the training aspect of the sport and had many P2P winners, this lead to him taking the decision to pursue his training career.
Over the years Joe has gained lots of experience in breaking in young stock, pre-training and training horses and is more than ready for the next stage in his career. He is looking forward to carrying on his previous success and bringing out the best of all the horses in the yard. The welfare of the horses is at the heart of everything he does and his passion is clear to see.
